Traveling
through the dark is an ironical and sentimental poem composed by William
Stafford. In this poem, the poet describes how he is move kd by the death of
pregnant doe. Once he was driving in the dark night. He saw the deer at the
side of a Wilson River road. He saw a recently Killed
doe. She was stiff and cold. He felt that there was warmth at the sides. He
guessed the dear was pregnant and her baby was waiting to come out, but it was
impossible. The poet felt pity as it was impossible for the fawn to be born.
