1. Alyohin tells the story of violent love affair between teo servants Nikanor and Pelageya in the second paragraph of the story. Alyohin is the source of this story . He is also one of the character in the second story. Both of the stories are told by Alyohin. The first story describes the love between the two servants, where as second story describes the love between socially superior classes. So there is a clear contrast between the two stories.
Furthermore, the love between first couple is an ordinary and usual. They express their desire frankly but the love between Alyohin and Anna is unusual.
